The reader will find humor, pathos, and wisdom in this series. The eight volumes of this set describe the life of Buddha or prince Siddharth in a very interesting way. The series is very enjoyable and addictive. Even teenagers would love it.

As my friend Richa says about this set of books, “This one is our family favorite… my son was 10 years old when he read this. It doesn’t mean it is for children. Women are depicted wearing only a loincloth. Each parent will have to take their own decision.”

It’s good to read it yourself first and then decide if it’s suitable for your children yet or not.

V for Vendetta

Author- Alan Moore

Reading age- 18 years and above

Print length- 287 pages

Language- English

I know many people who would always choose a book over its adaptation to a movie. And for many ‘V for  Vendetta’ has been one such graphic novel that is better in its comic form. It is a story about corruption, politics, and vengeance. This powerful fiction story is set in a fictional England.

The dark color of the images in the novel stresses the dark tones of the storyline. It makes the reader think and question if V is the real hero, his principles, and ways of doing things. His identity is not revealed throughout the novel. The novel inspires people to think about the choices, rights, responsibilities, and repercussions of their actions.
